The Barley Literates are a beer homebrewing club dedicated to having fun while improving our craft. If you are a homebrewer who would like to take your hobby to the next step, or are considering homebrewing but haven't started yet, joining a club is an excellent next step.

Experienced brewers are always ready to share their brewing tips, and having others sample your finished beer is a great way to find out what's right and wrong with it. Especially if you know something is missing but can't quite put your finger on it.

We have regular monthly meetings and club events such as Meet the Brewer, where one of the club members hosts a brewing at his or her house and other members can observe his or her techniques - you always learn something.

We also participate in larger events, such as the Del Mar Fair's homebrewing competition, and the Southern California Homebrewers Festival in Temecula.

And if that wasn't enough, active members get a 10% discount on homebrew supplies at many local home brew shops.
