Great meeting! Tom Ryan a long time member who retired and has been hosting at the Federal Camp grounds attended the meeting. It was interesting to hear his adventures and his brewing hints. A new guest some of us know, Teresa attended. She is a beer freak and is looking to start brewing.
A lot of reports so let’s get started ---
SCHBF at Lake Casitas – We had a blast! There were about 25 clubs there, some familiar, some new. Several clubs had some good brews. Our club had 15 beers on tap at a time and blew out a few kegs. A lot of our beers were very popular. The crowds were a little thinner than the past one and the prediction of rain may have kept them away. We sold glasses and shirts.
Brewery Crawl was too short because we all had a hard time getting back on the bus to get to the next brewery. Terry took good care of us at The Lost Abbey and the tour was great. Afterwards about 7 of us had dinner at Stone. The scallops were really good.
Lake Morena campout was a multi-club event. Stan reported there were 23 campsites and several cabins reserved all well spaced and not crowded. There were 3 sites set up for beer. The ground was flat enough to set up one of the Barley Engineers bars.
Events to plan ----
May 27 at 6:30 p.m. volunteer planning meeting at K & B Cellars, 6380 Del Cerro Blvd, SD, for the 2011 National Homebrew Conference to be held at Town & Country in Mission Valley. Interested homebrew clubs can participate on one night of this mult-day event serving their homebrew from their bars with other clubs in a convention room. Here is a link to the 2010 conference

Sept 25, 26, 27 Oktoberfest campout at Lake Dixon? This has been an annual event. We usually have numerous camp sites together in a circle on the top of a hill. Enough room for RVs, trailers and tents. It’s a family event with fishing during the day and potato cannons and beer pong at night!
October 23rd multi-club Oktoberfest Picnic – Beer (of course), food, and music! Last year’s was great and this year’s should be even better! Good family event.
